Crown Heights mother seeks justice after 10-year-old son is assaulted

A Crown Heights mother is seeking justice after she says her 10-year-old son was assaulted and had to be taken to the hospital.

The boy who does not want to be identified says he was walking home from school when two boys came up behind him and slammed his face into a bench.

The boy says his mother usually walks him home from school.

On Friday, he says his mother, Chinelle Davidson, was home recovering from the flu, so he walked home alone and took a short cut through South Pacific Playground when the incident happened.

Davidson says he came home with blood all over his face, and when she came outside to find the boys, they were already gone.

"I was furious, I was scared because it's like it was all this blood was gushing. The doorbell had blood, his jacket, everything. It was just gushing, gushing,” Davidson recalls. “It had me traumatized. It was like ‘oh, my God,’ I took this one chance and that is what happened. That one chance I took for him alone to come home by himself."

She says she filed a police report in hopes of getting justice for her son.

Police say the incident happened just after 3 p.m.

The 10-year-old was taken to King's County Hospital and is expected to be OK.

His mother says she wants to raise awareness to this incident so that it does not happen to other kids in the future.

Police are asking anyone with information on the case to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
