Community advocate Craig Hammerman is calling on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to make changes at an intersection in Manhattan Beach.
Hammerman says he wants to see the three bus stops at the intersection of West End Avenue and Oriental Boulevard combined. According to the city's Vision Zero program, one death and half a dozen injuries from accidents were reported at the intersection in the past 10 years.
The MTA tells News 12 that it is monitoring the intersection to see if the change is needed. If the MTA made this proposed change, there would be four extra parking spots.
Residents say parking can be an issue in the area, especially in the summer months. They say they are convinced that change is needed.
Hammerman says this change could make it safer for pedestrians and traffic.
