Tenant: Ceiling collapsed on 15-year-old in East Flatbush

A ceiling collapse in an East Flatbush apartment sent a 15-year-old to the hospital Friday night, according to a tenant.
Roselene Almonord says the ceiling of her 3802 Glenwood Road apartment collapsed on her 15-year-old niece. She says she's lived in the apartment with her mother for nearly 20 years and that the infrastructure has always had problems.
Almonord tells News 12 the management company comes in to patch things up but never makes permanent repairs. She says she and her mother had to find other places to stay this past weekend because her apartment was not livable after the ceiling collapsed.
News 12 spoke with Mark at Glenwood Road Properties, the company that manages the apartment, and he tells News 12 that the office was closed over the weekend but that the super did make repairs Friday night and they're doing everything they can to accommodate these tenants.
Workers arrived at the apartment Monday morning, and management says they are going to fix the ceiling in the next two days, according to Almonord.
She also says they will pay for her and her mother to stay somewhere else during that time. Almonord's niece was released from the hospital Friday night and is expected to be OK.
Almonord tells News 12 she's just hoping the workers do a good job with the repairs so that nothing like this ever happens again.
