The street artist who goes by the name RAE BK says he's been making art for almost his whole life.
The artist, who masks himself to remain anonymous, says that when he sees plastic bags on the streets, he collects them and combines them with other objects that he finds to make his pieces. He then places the artwork in different public locations around the city.
He says that the plastic bags would typically just end up in a landfill, so his technique is environmentally friendly because the bags are able to be recycled.
And with the plastic bag ban taking effect, he says he understands the need. And if he ever runs out of plastic bags to use, he will continue making art out of other objects that he finds on the streets.
His artwork will either end up back out on the street as displays or be sold at one of his pop-up exhibitions that he holds once year.
