A mother of three is fighting to get a crossing guard placed at a busy Bensonhurst intersection even though her previous requests have been ignored.

Ann Margaret Murphy says the intersection where Bay Parkway, W. 11th Street and 71st Street meet is very busy especially at the beginning and end of the school day.

Murphy, who has lived in Bensonhurst for more than 40 years, attended school right down the street. She says as a kid there was always a crossing guard, but now her kids are forced to cross without one.

Murphy says the streets have become more dangerous. She says there's a car wash and gas station right on Bay Parkway, adding that drivers often line up at the car wash to get their vehicles cleaned.

There are two school buildings in a two-block radius as well as a pre-K center. Murphy says her concerns need to be taken seriously. Murphy tells News 12 that she has reached out to elected officials and officers at the 62nd Precinct, but nothing has been done.

News 12 reached out to Councilmember Kalman Yeger, Assemblyman William Colton and the NYPD, but has not heard back.
