Syosset, Jericho firefighters issue special siren thank you to workers at Syosset Hospital

First responders in Nassau County gave a special salute to hospital workers Saturday night.

Firefighters from Jericho and Syosset parked their rig outside Syosset Hospital with sirens blaring and lights flashing.

Officials say they wanted to say thank you to those at the hospital taking care of patients with COVID-19.

"This display is overwhelming. It's really, the staff is overwhelmed. As you can see there's a lot of people out here but a lot of people in the windows upstairs. Tears are in their eyes, they're proud to be working here," says Diane Devivo, employee at Syosset Hospital.
Syosset Hospital is among many hospitals on the island caring for people with the coronavirus.
