Curran reports 13 new deaths in Nassau County; total COVID-19 cases at 14,398

Nassau Executive Laura Curran reported 13 new coronavirus-related deaths Sunday in the county, for a total of 162.
The county's total positive COVID-19 cases are at 14,398, which is up by 1,052 since the last update from Curran on Saturday.
Hospitalizations in the county as of last night were at 2,117, including 431 patients on ventilators.
The 13 deaths announced Sunday included 10 men and three women, Curran says. They ranged in age from 62 to 93 years old, and all had underlying medical conditions.
The update came as New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Sunday that the state may have reached the "apex" of cases, though he cautioned that  more examination of data is needed. State cases are now at 122,031 with 4,159 deaths. He cited a troubling shift in cases to Long Island.
