Performing arts organization shifts to virtual programming

With schools closed and nonessential workers staying home, a Brooklyn performing arts organization decided to keep operating in a different way.

Purelements: An Evolution in Dance knew that many students would be turning to them as an outlet during a time of pain.

The nonprofit offers after-school programming as well as dance classes in Brownsville and East New York. They say a perk of moving to virtual teaching is offering it to a wider audience.

The performing arts organization is also incorporating TikTok challenges in its lessons.

Around this time, students will be preparing for their end of year concert in June. No decision has been made yet on whether the event will be held or how.
