A new Brooklyn-based nonprofit aims to connect New Yorkers willing to help with small businesses who need the help.
The women who founded Brooklyn Donates say they are looking to make a difference.
They posted flyers on Sunday around Sunset Park to inform residents and businesses of the work that they do.
Their primary goal is to find more restaurants who want to be featured, and they plan on expanding.
"In the coming weeks, we will be featuring some musicians and artists as well because they rely on a lot of these restaurants for tips. This is their Friday jam spot and we want to feature them as well,” they say.
The women say they've encouraged businesses they work with to create GoFundMe pages or Venmo accounts so that those New Yorkers who are looking to donate can do so easily.
