A new mural at the Atlantic Terminal Mall is spelling out a message of hope in a big way.
Jason Naylor says the mural gives the feeling of joy, especially during these dark times.
"To walk by something that's larger than life, larger than yourself...it does have the capacity to take you to another place even if just for a second,” said Naylor.
As a Brooklyn resident, he says he feels the location of the mural is perfect. Madison International Realty, who owns the mall, commissioned him to paint it as a tribute to the essential workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
"It's kind of like the epicenter of Brooklyn, subways converge right there, all these people are getting out of the subway at Barclays, there's tons of the essential workforce that's right in that area,” said Naylor.
Naylor says he hopes to do more murals like this one across the city.
