A double homicide continues to remain unsolved with questions left behind after two neighbors were shot and killed inside their apartments at the Bushwick Houses in 2018.
On May 11, the daughter of Ana Del Valle says she walked into the fifth-floor apartment at 140 Moore Street that she shared with her mother and found the 62-year-old tied up with a bullet wound to her head.
Their neighbor, 54-year-old Basil Gray, was found dead inside his apartment next door two days later.
Police say they believe the two were killed the same day. Investigators released cellphone footage, which at the time they believed had been recorded through a peephole around the time the two were killed.
Del Valle’s daughter says she can’t even begin to imagine her mother’s final thoughts.
Investigators say they didn’t receive a 911 call prior to the two being found, but that they strongly believe somebody out there heard something, knows something, and they are asking that even if you think it’s something insignificant to call the police and let them decide.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
