A Brooklyn mother was handcuffed in front of her child at the Barclays Center subway station Thursday and it was all caught on camera.
Police tell News 12 that Kaleemah Rozier, 22, was not wearing a mask at the time of the incident. They say when they tried to inform her of regulations she became combative.
Police say they then told Rozier she would be escorted out, telling her to “do not do this in front of your kid ma’am.” They say she then waved her arms and struck an officer with her hand.
That’s when police say they handcuffed her in front of her child. Rozier is facing resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment charges.
Mayor Bill de Blasio says more training needs to be done with officers. He says he wants to work with the NYPD commissioner to make a plan that strikes a balance.
