Bronx residents in need of medication are finding it difficult to fill their prescriptions because of how many pharmacies were looted and are now closed. 

An 86-year-old Bronx resident tells News 12 she is in need of her high blood pressure and arthritis medication. She says she was hoping this time around that her neighborhood pharmacy would be open. 

“I came three times already to fill my prescription to see if it's open. I don't know what I'm going to do. It's the only pharmacy I go to,” the woman tells News 12. 

Vandals targeted businesses throughout the Bronx, leaving a path of destruction at jewelry stores, cell phone outlets, retail shops, liquor stores and many pharmacies. 

Now, they’re forced to board up to protect against another possible hit.

Some pharmacies have estimated more than $200,000 in losses and some are now choosing to stay closed in fear that it might happen again.
