Police were called to a McDonald’s in the Bronx early Wednesday morning and found a male body wrapped in plastic on the roof of the restaurant.
The body was found just before 6 a.m. at the McDonald’s at 149th Street and Morris Avenue.
Police say they were called with reports of an unconscious person on the roof of the restaurant. They found the male wrapped in a plastic bag, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was an apparent smell from the street this morning, and neighbors said they started smelling something Tuesday night but thought it was a dead animal.
"It was crazy because we smelled the smell last night, and we didn’t know what it was; we thought it was a dead rat, but it was this morning they found a body that was upstairs on the roof,” says resident Elliot Berry.
Berry says his friend works at the McDonald’s and called him Wednesday morning to tell him a body had been found on the roof.
The investigation is still ongoing, and police say the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
