Vendors still selling West Indian products at Flatbush Caton Market despite annual carnival going virtual

Vendors say they're still planning to sell West Indian products at the Flatbush Caton Market despite the annual West Indian American Day Carnival going virtual amid the pandemic.
Barbara Jacob, who owns a gift shop and creates handmade pieces, tells News 12 she's excited to celebrate the carnival in another way.
Barbara's Gift Shop and the nearly 30 vendors at the market say they've been struggling. It closed in March due to Gov. Andrew Cuomo's orders to close any nonessential businesses - and reopened July 1.
Vendors, like Flagathon, says they hope local shoppers will come and support local business.
On top of shopping, this Saturday there will be a sidewalk fete with performances to give residents a sense of carnival.
Vendors in the market say they hope to boost sales with a website for shopping within the next week.
