Police say a Pennsylvania Avenue auto body shop was the most recent target Thursday in a string of similar robberies.
Employees at Strauss Auto Body say a group of bandits armed with knives and guns broke into the car shop around 7:30 a.m. demanding cash. According to the employees, the robbers made off with their wallets and money from the shop?s safe.
Police say the heist is the most recent in a string of at least six similar hold ups in Brooklyn and Queens auto body and auto parts stores over the last several months. The first crime of its kind happened in August.
Police are searching for two men they believe are connected to the rash of robberies.
