Students at P.S. 6 in the borough's West Farms neighborhood took part in a workshop today on the NYPD's stop-and-frisk policy. Teachers and community activists helped students role play scenarios in which they were approached by an officer. They say they want to inform the children on how to properly react if targeted by law enforcement. Volunteers told students to follow all directions, avoid confrontation and keep their hands visible if approached. According to Brothers and Sisters Who Care, the group that held the workshop, at least 600,000 people were stopped and frisked across the city in 2010. They say only 10 percent were arrested.
