Sunset Park neighbors are demanding a hold on an upcoming project by Steiner Studios to build on the waterfront by Bush Terminal Park.
They say there's a proposal for the film studio to take over 600,000 square feet as part of a $500,000,000 Made in NY project, which will use both private and public money.
The plan would give the studio a 49-year lease for the public waterfront land. Community members say they want more information on the project and how it might impact them.
The group also says they want to discuss jobs related to climate change for the site.
Local politicians have also sent letters to Mayor Bill de Blasio dating back to 2017, and in response, the New York City Economic Development Corporation president promised community input.
The group says the mayor spoke on WNYC last week, claiming he would complete a review but that hasn't happened.
They say the community board asked for it to be tabled until they get more information.
The EDC is scheduled to vote on the project Wednesday. The group says the mayor can put an end to it.
