Sunset Park residents heated over gas outage
A group of Sunset Park residents rallied in the cold Thursday in protest of the heat, hot water and gas they say is lacking in their building.
The residents of 553 46th St. say they've been without gas for about three weeks, and heat and hot water have been inconsistent.
Sharp Management, which took over the building less than a year ago, says the company is renovating plumbing and gas lines throughout the building. A spokesman for the company says it could take several weeks to finish the work.
Sharp says it holds meetings with tenants and delivers letters to notify residents of the maintenance.
