When it comes to shopping at local, small businesses, Brooklyn ranks among the top 10 cities in the country, according to a Yelp/Harris poll.

In Park Slope, the area is known for its mom and pop shops, as well as their supportive customers.
The retail store Brooklyn Industries has been mentioned in some articles alongside the Yelp poll. It's one business that started small and with its success it spread to cities throughout the country.
The survey found that overall 64 percent of Americans plan to shop at small, local businesses this holiday season.
It says shoppers also plan to spend about $250 each in Park Slope.
