Three businesses were robbed at knifepoint over the weekend, and police believe the same man is responsible in each incident.
While police say he made off with more than $500 at the first two, he only made off with $20 from the Bed-Stuy deli.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the incident at Superstar Deli on Broadway around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
A worker told police the suspect came into 1164 Broadway swinging a knife around and demanding cash. They say he took $20 from the register and ran off.
The worker at Superstar Deli, Mohammad Saleh, broke down in tears recalling the event to News 12, saying all he could think about were his six children back in Yemen.
"Bad, it's very bad. For what? for $20, $50. It's no good. I don't want to get hurt myself or I don't want to kill somebody or have anybody kill me, I have six kids,” says Saleh.
News 12 is told this isn’t the first time the suspect has struck. Police say the man robbed two different pizza places in Manhattan, stealing about $550 between the two businesses.
No one was hurt during any of the incidents.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
