Swastikas, graffiti found on bus outside Jewish school
Williamsburg residents and police are working to find the vandals who scrawled messages of hate on a bus at a Jewish school.
Swastikas were found on the driver?s side and rear-view mirror of the bus. A phrase referring to Adolph Hitler was also painted.
Officials believe the vandals struck between Thursday night and Friday morning, before the holiday Yom Kippur, one of the holiest days of the year on the Jewish calendar.
Resident Jacob Schwartz said the different cultural groups who live in Williamsburg get along, and that the incident appears to be isolated. Other residents didn?t point to any larger problems with prejudice either.
Officials said they have no suspects in the case. They also said surveillance cameras may be able to be used in the investigation.
