A taxi swerved out of control Sunday and crashed into a fire hydrant, narrowly missing a glass storefront.
The accident took place near Coney Island Avenue and Avenue C around 2 a.m.
None of the three people who were checked out by emergency crews needed medical attention.
A witness says a second car was making a U-turn and almost hit the oncoming taxi.
