Mayor Eric Adams and Chancellor David Banks announced Monday that a team of 45 superintendents will play a bigger role in communication, curriculum and culture within the NYC school system.
The team is made up of both new and old faces, and those who are a part of this are going to have a larger part in fixing some of the biggest challenges in city schools, such as safety, lack of communication with parents and school staff, and mastering essentials in school.
“They will be responsible for improving outcomes for students,” said Chancellor Banks. “Imagining their learning experiences, leading curriculum and instructional design.”
The city hopes these superintendents will bring out-of-the-box thinking to the table.
