Wet weather was making its way inside an apartment in NYCHA's Louis Armstrong Houses in Bed-Stuy, according to the tenants there -- until a News 12 report led to swift repairs.
Monique Clayburne says she had to continually empty buckets of water and mop up her bedroom on rainy days.
She says the leak began about two months ago and steadily worsened until a small leak became a big hole in the ceiling.
Clayburne says that after her family reported the issue to NYCHA, a worker patched up the hole with a cardboard box.
When News 12 reached out to NYCHA, the Housing Authority said it had already tried to contact the Clayburnes about repairs.
A few hours later, an inspector visited the apartment Wednesday, and the family says workers later repaired the hole in their ceiling the same day.
