Tenants at Lindsay Park allege mismanagement by board of directors
Shareholders at Lindsay Park are alleging that members of the housing complex's board of directors have committed corruption, lack of transparency and mismanagement of money.
While the District Attorney's Office wouldn't confirm or deny any investigations having to do with the complex, shareholders tell News 12 that they watched officials from the DA's office seize computers and filing cabinets from the development's office.
Residents also tell News 12 that they have lived at the complex their entire lives and claim board members are using corporation money for personal use, not conducting a fair election for the board of directors and not following proper protocol for the complex's waiting list.
"We want to expose the corruption that's going on here," said one shareholder. "Nepotism, there's also problems with discrimination fraud. $100 million in debt and it doesn't seem to concert anybody on the board."
They say they've had enough and are now calling on the mayor and attorney general to step in.
Shareholders say they are also holding Housing Preservation and Development accountable because it has not done anything regarding the complaints over the years.
A HPD spokesperson told News 12 in a statement, "The Brooklyn District Attorney's Office is actively investigating this property. HPD is cooperating with the DA's office through this investigation."
The Lindsay Park Housing Corporation declined to comment on the allegations.
