Tenants of the Bronx River Houses are making a plea for help getting rid of mold in their homes.
According to Johanna Resto, her family is being forced to live in moldy conditions despite phone calls to 311, her housing manager and to a social worker. She says her ceiling started peeling from mildew more than a year ago.
Tenant Josie Sims says she's already taken her fight over the mold to court because she's worried about how the conditions will affect her young daughter.
News 12 reached out to the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) about the mold. It said someone will respond after the tenants sign a consent form.
