Tenants say New York City Housing Authority needs to handle a major trash problem in Mott Haven.
William Conyers, who lives in the NYCHA complex, says he’s seen people throw urine-filled bottles, dirty diapers and used women's sanitary products out the window.
He says the problem has been going on for at least five years and that he tried to reach out to NYCHA management to clean the trash, but they never showed up.
News 12 reached out to NYCHA about the issue. It said, "Staff is currently on site. They have removed the bulk of the garbage and will continue working to ensure it is fully removed. We are also reposting notices regarding proper waste disposal."
