A Bedford-Stuyvesant community organization got into the holiday spirit during their "Thanks and Giving" event Saturday.
About 500 meals were donated to those in need through the Young Entrepreneurs Salute organization. Founder Jason Williams says he started the organization over the summer as a way to give back.
The meals themselves were prepared by Whole Foods. Community members also got free haircuts courtesy of a nearby barbershop.
Williams says he hopes the independently-funded Thanks and Giving event will become an annual tradition.
