The deadline to pay Uncle Sam is right around the corner. 

With less than a week left to file your federal taxes on time, it's still not too late to get assistance, even for free, depending on your income. The Jamaica Bay Library in Brooklyn is just one place where you can get help and questions answered. 

But before you head out the door, make sure you have all the paperwork you need. Documents include a copy of your return from last year, a driver's license or other photo ID, your Social Security card, proof of income, and bank account and routing numbers. 

The deadline to file is April 15. For those who need more time, you can still ask for an extension by that same day.
