The Visiting Nurse Service of New York is offering Brooklyn residents a "timebank" in which they can barter services with other residents.
Some say the timebank is a good idea in light of the economic crisis that has hit the country.
Those who sign up for the timebank are able to exchange services such as dancing lessons and language tutoring.
