Police have arrested two alleged gunmen, after the two men led them through Baychester on a car chase.
Police say it started when they responded to a 911 call about a man with a gun at Ely Anenue and Adee Avenue on Thursday evening. By the time police arrived, eyewitnesses told them the two suspects had already fled the scene in a Toyota Camry.
Police later found the two suspects, 26-year-old Dwayne Thomas of The Bronx and 31-year-old Kenton Russel of Yonkers, near Hammersly and Mickle Avenues. The suspects drove off when police tried to pull them over, leading the police on a car chase. They then pulled over, abandoning the car and fleeing on foot.
The first suspect was cornered on Fish Avenue, and the second was caught trying to jump a fence on Arnow Avenue. Both were arrested, and police recovered two firearms at both crime scenes.
