The fight to keep some Bronx schools open is heating up as the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) files a lawsuit against the city.
The union has subpoenaed former schools Chancellor Joel Klein and 11 Department of Education (DOE) officials to testify about the proposed closure of 19 schools, including six in the borough.
Teachers argue the DOE failed to provide promised resources to the schools, which in turn forced them onto the chopping block.
