Scheduled overnight road closures on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge could impact your commute this month.
The upper level will be closing at 9 p.m., with eastbound lanes toward Brooklyn expected to reopen at 5 a.m. each day and westbound lanes into Staten Island set to reopen at 6 a.m. The lower level will stay open.
Vehicles carrying hazardous material, along with those that are more than 13 feet 6 inches tall, will not be permitted to cross in either direction during the construction hours.
Other restrictions include vehicles that are more than 17-feet wide, which won't be allowed on the lower level westbound into Staten Island only. There are no restrictions for overweight vehicles.
Crews will be removing and installing new steel sign gantries and new signs. The closures are expected to last until Aug. 20
