A team visited a busy Bensonhurst intersection that is prone to accidents to spread the word about Vision Zero, which is a push to reduce injuries and fatalities related to car accidents.
The Department of Transportation and NYPD on Monday sent representatives to Bay Parkway and 65th Street, which the city says is a notorious area for car accidents.
Patrolling the streets and handing out fliers, the team urged Brooklyn residents to pay attention, use caution while driving and crossing city streets, and to obey traffic regulations.
Every two hours, a New Yorker is seriously injured or killed by being struck by a vehicle, according to officials.
One resident said he was glad to see a Vision Zero team spreading the word in his neighborhood.
