Volunteers who spent long hours at the site of a deadly explosion in Borough Park in October received recognition from the city's Office of Emergency Management Wednesday.
OEM Commissioner Joe Esposito handed out certificates to those who worked nights and weekends for no pay after the blast.
In all, 55 auxiliary police members and 19 community emergency responders received honors.
Investigators say the explosion was intentionally set by a tenant. That tenant was one of two women killed in the blast.
