? At a meeting held tonight for the tenants of 2400 Webb Ave. who were forced to evacuate after the building's fire escapes were removed, residents learned they could be out of their apartments for months.
While their building's management company was not present at the meeting, Councilman Fernando Cabrera said he spoke with the landlord and said that the fire escapes may be reinstalled within eight weeks.
The fire department ordered the evacuation after the landlord removed all of the fire escapes as part of a construction project, while only having city permits to remove six.
