The New York City Department of Transportation is encouraging Bronx residents to get out and enjoy 'weekend walks' around the borough. The events are free to attend for the whole family and will feature food, music and activities for kids. One event will take place on West Burnside Avenue between Davidson and Jerome avenues, closing the street from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Another event will be held on Louis Nine Boulevard, which will be closed from Southern Boulevard to Intervale Avenue between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday. A Sunday weekend walk is scheduled to take place in Bedford Park, closing East 204th Street between Bainbridge and Decatur avenues from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.DOT invites Bronx residents on 'weekend walks'
