Some Bergen Beach community members say that they have been living with a neighbor who has been so out-of-line for the past month that her behavior landed her in jail.

They say the woman flung a hammer from a third-story balcony and that it landed on the rear windshield of a black sedan.
"We're scared for our lives. She's on the third-floor porch, every day and night, yelling, waiting for you to come out of your house. Nobody should be scared to go in and out of the house,” says neighbor Moshe Zarum.

Police say 48-year-old Janice Quadara was arrested multiple times in the past month. Neighbors say she's texted them death threats, damaged their property and spray-painted conspiracy theories onto the street.

"We're terrorized. My girlfriend has nightmares. She doesn't want to come here. People are terrorized,” says Zarum.

Prosecutors say Quadara is awaiting trial behind bars. She's being held on $5,000 bail on an attempted assault charge.
News 12 reached out to Quadara's defense attorney for comment but has not heard back.
