Police have arrested a woman and are charging her with homicide after a 20-year-old woman fell to her death Thursday from a West Farms apartment balcony.

According to police, the victim was delivering birthday gifts to her boyfriend's three-year-old daughter. The victim called 911 as soon as she arrived at the 14th-floor residence, and police say they could hear women threatening her in the background.

Authorities also say the woman in custody is the child's mother.

The names of the victim and suspect have not been released.
