Drivers are being warned to expect overnight traffic delays on the Whitestone Bridge as construction enters its final phase.
According to the MTA, two Queens-bound lanes will be closed beginning Wednesday night as part of a four-year and nearly $200 million project to reconstruct the Bronx approach at the bridge. The work will provide wider lanes and brand new safety shoulders.
Officials suggest drivers take alternate routes, including the Throgs Neck Bridge.
