In what is believed to be one of the largest real estate deals in years for The Bronx, the Whitestone Cinema building was sold to an investment group for hundreds of millions of dollars.
The building, located at 2505 Bruckner Boulevard, has been a cinema since 1983 and was a drive-in theater dating back to the 1950s.
The building was purchased by the Lightstone Group.
While no official plans have been announced about what the group will do with the building, many residents are excited that new jobs may accompany the big purchase.
