The body of a woman with a slashed throat was found early Monday morning in front of the Roosevelt Houses on Hart Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
The victim's abandoned 1-year-old boy was also found near the crime scene, but is now safe with authorities.
Family members have identified the victim as 27-year-old Aisha Bristol. Police believe Bristol and the baby were getting in the car when the murder took place.
Investigators have turned up a kitchen knife possibly used in the attack. Sources tell News 12 Brooklyn that Bristol had sought police protection from her estranged boyfriend in the past. Police say they are interested in questioning the boyfriend.The incident has left neighbors concerned. They say that if someone could attack and kill a woman in broad daylight, it raises concerns about the safety of others living in the area.
