A fire at an East Flatbush apartment seriously injured a woman who uses a wheelchair to get around.
Officials say the flames sparked just after 2:30 a.m. at apartment 6E at 2020 E. 41st St.
They say Theresa Macintosh was inside the apartment at the time.
Macintosh was taken to Brookdale Hospital in serious condition.
According to the website Barrier Free Living, she is a domestic violence survivor and is the founder of the Barrier Free Living Speakers Bureau.
The website says the organization is an advocate for issues surrounding the disabled community and disabled survivors of domestic violence.
