A Flatlands fire claimed the life of a 64-year-old woman Saturday morning.
Fire officials say they were called to East 52nd Street just after 10 a.m.
They say the woman died in the basement of the building. The victim's identity has not yet been released.
Firefighters had the blaze under control after one hour at the scene. They are still investigating what sparked the fire.
