A woman who struggled with infertility is doing what she can to support others in the same battle by spreading awareness during Infertility Awareness Week.
According to RESOLVE, the National Infertility Association, infertility impacts one in eight families in the U.S.
Karin Ajmani and her husband were trying to have a second child when Ajmani experienced her first miscarriage. After that, Ajmani suffered from several more miscarriages, totaling seven miscarriages in 3 1/2 years.
In one of the miscarriages, Ajmani was seven months pregnant.
Eventually, Ajmani went to a specialist and received IVF treatment. At 38 years old, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
While IVF is one of the many treatments available for infertility, they are costly. That's why Ajmani started working for Progyny, a company that provides fertility benefit plans.
She and others are hoping this week dedicated to infertility awareness helps in spreading the word that there are options, and that no one should give up on their dreams to have children.
Go HERE to watch an extended interview with Ajmani.
