One person is dead and at least one other is injured after a train hit a group of people in Sheepshead Bay.

The incident happened late Saturday night around 11 p.m., according to police. They say a group of young men in their early 20s were near the train tracks along the Q line at the intersection of East 16th Street and Avenue S.

Police say at least two of the men were hit by the train, one fatally. The second person was sent to the hospital and is in serious condition.

The NYPD has not said how many people were in the group or why they were so close to the tracks.

The incident is still under investigation.
