Police responded to Ditmas Avenue and Branton Street for a fatal car accident in Brooklyn on Tuesday.

Police say a vehicle struck an unoccupied tractor-trailer and a van at 1:30 a.m. The driver, an unidentified 33-year-old man, was in stable condition and taken into custody with possible charges pending. The passenger, a 29-year-old woman, was taken to Brookdale Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Officers are looking into the possibility that alcohol may have been involved and if the man was driving without a license, but everything is still under investigation.
