Shots rang out in Canarsie Thursday night leaving one person dead.
According to police, the incident happened on Avenue M near East 93rd Street around 11 p.m.
Police say when they arrived at the scene they found a 24-year-old man lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to his chest and his leg. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police are still searching for the shooter or shooters.
