Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that 10 state-run mass COVID-19 vaccination sites opened for kids ages 5 to 11 this weekend.
The announcement came over a week after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention authorized the Pfizer vaccine for that age group.
According to the governor's office, more than 50,000 New York kids from that group have had their first shot since the CDC’s approval.
Two of the sites opened in the city Saturday.
One site is at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn and the other is at Bay Eden Senior Center in the Bronx.
Parents and guardians can make appointments at those sites on the New York state's website.
